Seeking translation reviewers

Translations are coming!

The Legal Services Society has generously agreed to fund the translation of our

  • pamphlet,
  • wallet card, and
  • video captions

into three languages of high need in British Columbia:

  • Traditional Chinese (we will use this as a basis to make Simplified Chinese available as well, localizing the language as needed),
  • Punjabi, and
  • Farsi.

UPDATE (November 9, 2018): We will also be translating the materials into

  • Arabic
  • French
  • Korean,
  • Spanish, and
  • Vietnamese.

Seeking translation reviewers

Professional, certified translators will translate the text, but we are looking for people who can help review the translations, comparing them with the original English, to make sure they are (a) linguistically accurate and (b) culturally safe and appropriate.

Specifically, we would like someone who:

  • has experience with certification under the BC Mental Health Act, preferably as a patient
  • is proficient in both English and one of the target languages.

The translations should be ready to review around mid- to late November. We are able to pay $150 for each review.

If you are interested, please contact us.

UPDATE (December 5, 2018): We have reviewers for all 8 languages! Thanks to everyone who offered to help.

I am writing to express my interest in doing reviews in Farsi. I currently work with CMHABC as a parent support coach.
I work full time and have some availability for reviewing.
Please let me know how I can contribute to this project.
